Korean Barbecue Meat Sauce

This original recipe came directly from a Korean family that passed it along through generations.

Directions

  • Continually whisk the ingredients together in a pan over low heat and cook until thoroughly blended.
  • Pour over meat and bake at 325 for 1 hour.

 

  • 4 lbs. sirloin beef strips
  • ¾ cup soy sauce
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. honey
  • 2 Tbsp. sherry
  • 1 Tbsp. sesame oil
  • 1 Tbsp. sesame seeds
  • 1 clove minced garlic
  • ½ tsp. MSG
  • ¼ tsp. black pepper
  • 1 ½” piece of ginger, peeled and crushed
  • 2 scallions, finely shredded on diagonal
